Art x Robotics: Dance, and Music

Through this project, I investigate the expressive potential of robotics in artistic contexts, exploring how robots can serve as creative partners.

Dance x Technology: I am currently exploring the emotional and social dimensions of robotic performance through two distinct dance initiatives. Using Boston Dynamics' simulated SPOT quadruped robot, I created a human-robot dance duet to examine audience perceptions and emotional responses to non-humanoid robotic movement. Separately, I worked on developing a novel approach to teaching Bharatanatyam, a classical Indian dance form, using Blue, a 6-degree-of-freedom robotic arm, demonstrating robotics' potential as a cultural preservation and education tool.

Music x Technology: I explored the power of interactive demonstrations where Blue responds to music in real-time, creating the appearance of "vibing" or reacting emotionally to musical input. This work explores how robotic systems can engage with and interpret artistic stimuli, opening conversations about machine creativity and expression.
